Canadian life insurers discuss risk sharing The Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association (CLHIA) announced yesterday that 23 life and health insurance companies representing 100 percent of the supplementary drug market have entered into a risk sharing agreement for high cost drug claims. This initiative will help lower the risk that Canadians with high drug costs may lose their employer-sponsored health insurance, particularly among those employed in small- and medium-sized businesses, where CLHIA says that risk has been increasing.

The Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technologies in Health (CADTH) has released the Common Drug Review Update Issue 75. In this issue:
- CADTH reminds stakeholders that embargoed CEDAC recommendations are to be held in confidence until the Notice of Final Recommendation has been issued.
- CADTH announces the launch of a pilot process for filing pre-submission information. The purpose of the pilot is to assist CADTH in optimizing the planning and resourcing for CDR reviews.
- The Common Drug Review (CDR) announces changes to the CDR Submission Guidelines for Manufacturers (effective immediately):
- Chander Sehgal is the new Director of CDR and Rapid Response. Sandy Pagotto will continue as the Interim Director for CDR until further notice.
